MOTSTOP remains OPEN as an essential service.
All vehicles require a valid MOT to drive on the road.
You may be fined up to £1,000 for driving with an expired MOT.
You CAN travel in order to have your vehicle MOT tested (and serviced or repaired).
You should have your MOT test done before the expiry date.
(Your MOT certificate will not be extended if it expires on or after 1st August 2020.)
Drivers are encouraged to book an MOT test well in advance of expiry.
You can still arrange an MOT test up to 1 month before the expiry date.
You cannot TAX your vehicle without a valid MOT.
DVLA will not automatically renew your tax if your MOT has run out
(even if you have an active direct debit).
MOT extensions already granted will remain valid, but you must ensure your vehicle remains roadworthy (safe and legal) at all times.
MOTSTOP is operating with some Covid-19 related changes in order to better protect our customers and staff (see below).
Opening hours are currently subject to change and our telephones may not be manned all day, however:
You can make an MOT booking online at any time.
